Are
you ready for some blues with your corned beef? Well, we have both ..a dinner and a blues show
staring the Mind X Trio and the Volker Strifler Blues Band appearing at the Sacramento Blues
Society's first official event for the year this coming this Saturday.
Come Thursday, for those of you going to see Joe Bonamassa
at the 'sold-out' Crest Theater show enjoy! For those of you going up to Grass Valley to see
James Cotton enjoy. If you are so inclined, please sent us a report of what you see & hear
for an upcoming "Rear View Mirror".
This Friday has some very interesting blues shows to
check out. One can see Pat Wilder at Jazzyblues Cafe in West Sacramento, Mind X performing
at Constable Jack's in Newcastle, Two- Tone Steiny along with Aaron King in the Blue Room Lounge,
Kevin Russell in the Torch Club or Shane Dwight at the casino near Placerville.
Saturday has the Q-Balls doing a Parkinson's benefit
at the Torch Club beginning at 4:00 PM., the above mentioned "St. Patty's Blues"
show & dinner at the VFW on Stockton Blvd. starting at 6:00 PM, Johnny O & The Blue
F.O.'s at Lucilles in Rocklin starting at 7:00 PM, Harper takes over the Torch Club and Mick
Martin & The Blues Rockers are in Constable Jack's, Whew!
Sunday "Daylight Savings Time" begins and
continues to be "Jam Day", but there are a couple of highlights to mention. First
Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings will be at the "Sunday Powerhouse of Blues"
show in Folsom starting at 3:00 PM. then from New Orleans, Trombone Shorty along with The Nibblers
appear at Harlow's in downtown Sacramento.

Joe Bonamassa is making a "sold out" appearance
at the Crest Theater in Sacramento on March 11, 2010.
In his role as spokesperson for the The Blues Foundation's
Blues In The Schools programs, Joe has agreed to meet with interested students that afternoon,
at the Crest, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. We would like to have 200 or more students attend. We need
help getting the word out to as many students, and their teachers, as possible!
This is a private event, FREE to all high school students,

CVBS / Blues Lovers Newsletter week of March 7 Issue 415
Hello Blues Lovers, I have some disappointing news to share with you about
the Mariposa Blues Festival that was planned for June 5/6 this year. They called me over the
weekend and told me it was officially canceled due to a lack of sponsorship. These are tough
times as we all know and squeezing a few bucks from corporate and private sponsors is real
hard to do. I'm sure they will do their best to bring it back next year. There are still lots
of festivals happening so stay tuned. I know the California Blues Festival link on our website
is not currently working but we will still list as many of the blues festivals as we can find.
The CVBS is currently working with the Tower Marketing Committee in putting
on a festival on Fathers Day, June 20 in the Tower District. This fest should be official real
soon. We will announce the line up and schedule just as soon as it all comes together. We too
are looking for sponsors if anyone is interested please contact us to be part of the inaugural
event.
Also, for you die hard festival fans you can aways go to the CVBS archives
and look at years past to see when and were festivals typically show. That will give you somewhat
of a heads up to what will be happening in 2010.
